Practising the principles
Practice what you preach? As we expand our base by setting up in Cape Town and consolidating in Johannesburg, 'dialogue' has a great opportunity to shake it up.
Practice what you preach? As we expand our base by setting up in Cape Town and consolidating in Johannesburg, 'dialogue' has a great opportunity to shake it up. We can double-check our authentic commitment to the organisational and personal principles we're driven by. Although always changing and learning, we thought we'd share a few key lessons from this shift on our blog over the next few weeks.
As a group of dedicated professionals, we're not new to the concepts and practice of effective versatility (we teach, coach and strategise these principles with organisations large and small). Steering our ship through busy waters whilst responding to changes and maintaining standards has been exciting - challenging some of our never-too-comfortable comfort zones.
It's crystal clear how vital communication is, especially during times of change. 'Dialogue' has many channels to do this, and we have really prioritised time to talk through-out our expansion. The results confirm the choice. However, priorities must be chosen wisely. Future-fit, innovative and change-wise we may be, but the blog has been dormant for two months and is therefore living proof that Superwoman is a myth!
Creativity and Flexibility have proved to be the names of the game. As much of our set-up is currently in cyber-space, Millenial work-style meets Generation X experience as we work on the move, streamline the admin processes, develop great materials and continue to train nationally. We have quite literally packed cases for workshops on the fly somewhere between the airport and the train station with plenty of text messages, phone calls, time management practices, office support and laughter thrown in. Habits have been broken, assumptions turned upside down and new talents and strengths revealed.
